Blanket Coat 4

Description

This is an 18th century-style military blanket coat made from a 100% wool Italian army blanket. Before cutting the blanket was around 60" x 80", and the entire blanket was used to construct the coat. It closes with linen tape ties, but it can also be worn with a belt over it. Although it is based on a historical pattern, it was made for use in a boffer LARP, so I relaxed my usual OCD and did the entire thing on the machine. (But fear not- I'll be making another one using some handsewing techniques as well.) It is being modeling by my friend, fellow reenactor, and seasoned LARPer, Frank.

This garment is also posted on Etsy as a made-to-order garment. Please check out my Etsy store at [link]

I like it! I especially like how you used the woven-in design on the blanket to be decorative.
